There has been chaos in the White House for the past couple of days, as the real reason why Trump gave the go ahead to bomb Iran has been hotly debated, as well as what the mission goals were to start this war, without the approval of Congress.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio was severely criticized yesterday when he attempted to explain that “preemptive” bombings were needed, because Israel was going to do it anyway, and they wanted to contain the damage from possible retaliatory attacks from Iran.
Rubio Says US Had to Strike Iran Because Iran Would Defend Itself If Attacked
The conflicting explanation comes as CENTCOM is reportedly calling for troops to “Be Relentlessly Lethal.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters on Monday that the U.S. had to wage war against Iran now because Iran would act to defend itself if it came under attack — a circular explanation that appeared to pass the buck for the aggression to Israel, despite reports that Israeli leaders have been coordinating a joint attack with the U.S. for months.
“It was abundantly clear that if Iran came under attack by anyone, the United States or Israel or anyone, they were going to respond and respond against the United States,” Rubio said.
Rubio suggested that Israel was going to act unilaterally and strike Iran regardless — despite abundant evidence that this isn’t true — so the U.S. was forced to coordinate a strike first in order to prevent U.S. casualties.

With Secretary of State Marco Rubio seated just two places away, President Donald Trump publicly contradicted his top diplomat’s explanation for why the US launched strikes against Iran—offering an account that directly undermined the one Rubio had delivered to Congress less than 24 hours earlier.
The moment, witnessed by reporters during a bilateral meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Tuesday, exposed the deepening confusion at the heart of the administration’s case for war.
When asked whether Israel forced his hand, Trump responded:
‘No. I might have forced their hand. You see, we were having negotiations with these lunatics, and it was my opinion that they were going to attack first.’
It was a direct rebuttal—not only of Israel’s alleged role in triggering the conflict, but of the precise framing Rubio had used to justify the intervention to congressional leaders.

However, the real reason the U.S. attacked Iran has now been made public today, by the actual people doing it, the U.S. Military Officers.
These officers have come forward to report that they were directed to tell their troops that Trump was “anointed by Jesus” and that war with Iran was “all part of God’s divine plan” to bring about Armageddon.
This has led to low troop morale, and so far at least 110 reports have been received by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) since Trump first launched strikes on Saturday.
As I have been reporting for months now, Evangelical Christian Zionism is destroying the U.S. [3], and now we have proof that this is exactly what is happening.

One noncommissioned officer said he was directed to tell his troops that Trump was “anointed by Jesus” and that war with Iran was “all part of God’s divine plan” to bring about Armageddon.
In less than a week, the US and Israel’s war has rendered unfathomable suffering [5] upon the people of Iran. Over 180 schoolgirls and staffers were killed in a massacre [6] this weekend, and several hospitals [7] have reportedly been struck, amid numerous other attacks on civilians.
But some US troops are being told the bloodletting is all a part of God’s plan.
At a briefing on Monday, as President Donald Trump [8] unleashed what has been called a “carpet bombing” of Tehran [9], a combat-unit commander reportedly [10] told noncommissioned officers (NCOs) that the commander-in-chief was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.”
The complaint, sent by one of those noncommissioned officers, was just one of at least 110 similar reports received by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) since Trump first launched strikes on Saturday.
In compliance with the First Amendment [11], the Department of Defense has long adopted rules against proselytizing [12] within the armed forces. But under Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, an evangelical Christian who has said [13] the West must wage a “crusade” against Islam, Christian nationalist invocations in the military have become commonplace.
Mikey Weinstein, the president and founder of MRFF and an Air Force veteran who served in the White House [14] of former President Ronald Reagan [15], told independent journalist Jonathan Larsen that the group has been “inundated” with complaints from NCOs since Saturday, which all have “one damn thing in freaking common.”
“Our MRFF clients report the unrestricted euphoria of their commanders and command chains as to how this new ‘biblically-sanctioned’ war is clearly the undeniable sign of the expeditious approach of the fundamentalist Christian ‘End Times’ as vividly described in the New Testament Book of Revelation,” Weinstein said.
“Many of their commanders,” he added, “are especially delighted with how graphic this battle will be, zeroing in on how bloody all of this must become in order to fulfill and be in 100% accordance with fundamentalist Christian end-of-the-world eschatology.”
According to Larsen, who first reported on the MRFF’s findings on Monday, the message has been spread far and wide as US troops rained missiles down upon Iran.
Larsen reported that the “complaints came from more than 40 different units spread across at least 30 military installations,” and have involved commanders in every branch of the US military [16].
One noncommissioned officer, who did not identify himself out of fear of retaliation, said his commander “urged us to tell our troops that this was ‘all part of God’s divine plan’ and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ.”
The NCO added that his commander “had a big grin on his face when he said all of this, which made his message seem even more crazy.”
“Our commander would probably be described as a ‘Christian First’ supporter,” he said. “He has been this way for a very long time and makes it clear that he desires all of us under him to become just like him as a Christian. But what he did this morning was so toxic and over the line that it shocked many of us in attendance at the ops readiness briefing.”
The NCO identified himself as a Christian, but emailed MRFF on behalf of 15 of his troops, which included at least one Muslim and one Jewish person.
He said that their commanders’ remarks “destroy morale and unit cohesion and are in violation of the oaths we swore to support the Constitution.”
“While America’s relationship with Iran is influenced by all the typical geopolitical factors of oil [17], culture, and nuclear weaponry, there is a part of American foreign policy that is influenced by apocalyptic evangelical theology,” wrote [18] Josh Olds, a pastor and theologian, on Monday for Baptist News Global.
Christian fundamentalists, some of whom have the ear of the White House [14], he said, view an Iranian war with Israel as central to triggering Armageddon, during which God will miraculously strike down Israel’s enemies, Jesus will return to Earth, and Christians will be raptured to Heaven, according to Biblical teachings.
“Donald Trump [8] partnered with Israel to bomb Iran because of the influence of an eschatology that sees conflict with Iran as setting the stage for fulfilled prophecy,” Olds said.
“The irony is profound: A faith centered on loving enemies and making peace becomes a framework that welcomes and advocates violence.
The result is not the advance of God’s kingdom but its irrevocable damage in the eyes of the world.”

Right around this time, Reuters reported [23] that US banks were on high alert for cyberattacks as the Iran war escalates.

Get ready for Trump to chicken out on Iran as markets fall and gas prices rise
Wall Street was not happy with the war today. Here is an opinion piece from MarketWatch [24] predicting that Trump will soon be pressured to reverse course on Iran.
The question they do not address, however, is whether Iran will stop?? They agreed to a ceasefire in last year’s 12-day war, but will they this year?
Financial markets are now pricing in months of higher gasoline prices, and panic is spreading

Congratulations, President Trump: The Israeli-U. S. war against Iran has just wiped out all of the U.S. gasoline-price savings achieved since you took office in January of last year.
Average U.S. gasoline prices rocketed Tuesday to $3.109 a gallon, according to AAA. That’s exactly where they were on Jan. 20, 2025. That’s an astonishing jump of 15 cents since the start of the war a few days ago, and of 30 cents since the start of this year.
This is especially embarrassing, as it’s exactly a week since Donald Trump was bragging about how much gasoline prices had fallen since he took office.
“Prices are plummeting downward,” the president told the American public and a joint session of Congress during his marathon State of the Union address.
“Nobody can believe when they see the kind of numbers, and especially energy, when they see energy going down to numbers like that, they cannot believe it. It’s like another big tax cut.”
The costs of this war to regular Americans doesn’t stop there, either. Financial markets are now pricing in months of higher gasoline prices, stretching right through the summer and beyond. The futures markets think this war will still be adding at least 15 cents to a gallon of gas in September.
Meanwhile, panic is spreading across the rest of the markets, with stocks and bonds tumbling.

Iran Attacked Amazon Web Services Data Centers in the Middle East Taking them Offline
Meanwhile, these rich Arab Oil Sheikhs are reaching out to Russia now for help, seeing how futile are the efforts of the U.S. Military to protect them.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has confirmed that recent drone strikes by Iran took down three of its facilities in the Middle East.
“In the UAE, two of our facilities were directly struck, while in Bahrain, a drone strike in close proximity to one of our facilities caused physical impacts to our infrastructure,” Amazon posted at 4:19 p.m. PST on Monday.
The situation at the impacted facilities hasn’t improved since the update, and Amazon is unsure when the infrastructure will be restored. The strikes caused structural damage, knocked out power, and sparked fire, Amazon said, adding that efforts to control the fire caused additional water damage at the data centers.
The company is currently prioritizing employee safety and has asked its customers to route their workloads to AWS data centers in the US, Europe, or Asia Pacific.
